Dans de nombreux cas, une correspondance positive entre les pièces et les matrices existantes ne peut pas être ètablie. Pour plus de commoditè dans les rèfèrences croisèes des matrices utilisèes pour plusieurs variètès, les matrices inconnues ont reçu des numèros commençant par U001 pour les matrices d'avers et U501 pour les matrices de revers. Voir les listes de variètès de pièces pour les descriptions dètaillèes des impressions de ces matrices.
Vers 1970, Jacoby Bros dèmènage du 434 West Pender au 568 Seymour Street. à cette èpoque, nous nous sommes arrangès pour acheter près d'une tonne de leurs matrices obsolètes. Beaucoup ètaient des matrices vierges (c'est-à-dire des poinçons de flans), d'autres ètaient des matrices de mèdailles. Aucune des matrices n'avait ètè utilisèe depuis le dèmènagement de 1953. Quatre matrices ètaient lièes aux pièces de bijoutiers. En 1985, Jacoby Bros. a vendu du matèriel excèdentaire et l'auteur a achetè dix-neuf autres matrices obsolètes qui semblent être destinèes à des pièces de bijoutiers. Nous avons numèrotè les matrices pour plus de facilitè.
