J'aimerais apporter l'attention sur cette variété de 10$ 2001 avec un "cercle manquant" dans les motifs ronds orangés en bas a gauche du billet. Il manque un rond a l'intérieur d'un autre rond un peu plus grand ce qui le rend donc "vide". Je me rapelle qu'à l'époque j'entendais parler de cette variété et je la cherchais et j'en avais trouvé un ou deux mais je ne les avais pas gardé :S Je n'ai jamais rentendu parler de cette variété depuis et je me demande si quelqu'un aurait plus d'information la-dessus et si il y a une valeur etablie? J'espere ne pas avoir perdu une chance en les depensant :s

C'est quand meme etrange en 2001-2002 jen entendais bcp parler apres la sortie du billet. Ensuite plus rien. Mais j'en ai deja vu sur eBay.

The "missing circle" phenomenon has been reported on 10$ notes printed by CB, from prefix FEB to FEN (BC-63b and BC-63bA). The vertical orange strip at the left of each note consit of a pattern of lines, circls and concentric circles. The inner circle normally seen near the bottom left of the strip is missing on some of the notes. Such notes always have serial numbers ending in 500 to 999, and a wide orange strip.

These cannot considered to be error notes since they were within Bank of Canada tolerances. The affected portion, however, was intended to be removed when the sheets were trimmed, but survived because of variable cutting and/or litho printing registration. In extreme cases, two missing circles are found, the second above and slightly left of the first.

The is considerable collector interest in missing circle notes but pricing is complicated by the degree to which the variant appears, as well as rarity which varies by prefix. Approximate value indications for uncirculated notes showing 50% of the missing circle area would be 40$ for most prefixes, 50$ for the FEK, FEL, FEN, and 60$ up for insert notes. Value increase by approximately fifty to sixty per cent if one full empty circle shows.
